Pioneer William Sproull laid to rest in Walker's Creek Cemetery
William Auckmutey Sproull, born June 20 1863 in Georgia, died January 25 1945 at age 81 in Ben Arnold Texas. He moved from Alabama to Texas in 1891 and helped found Ben Arnold, serving as school trustee and church steward. He is survived by his widow Sarah Ella and five children plus numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Known as Uncle Hood, he was active in civic and religious life and a member of WOW camp and San Andres Lodge. Funeral rites were held Friday January 26 1945.

Seely Storey and Clayton Storey, sons of Mr and Mrs Bill Storey of Cameron, are in the U S Navy and Army Air Corps. Clayton enlisted May 29 1944 at 18 and served from Camp Wallace to Pearl Harbor and Eniwetok. Seely served in Alaska earning a decoration and now instructs at Barksdale Field Louisiana.

Mrs. E M Glass 64 mother of Lester Glass of Cameron died in a Temple hospital at 5 a m Tuesday February 13 1945 after a brief illness a heart stroke earlier. Born April 19 1881 in North Carolina she married E M Glass November 26 1899 and lived in Bell county then in the Midway community for 28 years. Emil Matula, 68, died at his Three Rivers home on February 6, 1945. Funeral services were held there February 9 with interment in Three Rivers Cemetery. He lived in Cameron area for 30 years in Quarrellton. Survived by widow, three children in Three Rivers, and four brothers in Cameron and Temple.

Nine Point Program Declared After Yalta Conference
The Big Three issued a nine point program at Yalta after an eight day session in Crimea.
