Father and Daughter Die in Farm Shooting Near Yarrellton

Joseph Hosek 54 and his daughter Vera 19 were killed in a family dispute at the Hosek farm home near Yarrellton. Hosek allegedly shot Vera three times then killed himself, dying after being taken to a local hospital. Justice Brashear ruled the death a self inflicted act. Mrs Hosek and three other children escaped during the incident. Funeral services were held Sunday with Leland Green Funeral Home directing.

Harvesters Open Cameron Store Ahead of March 1 Formal Opening

Officials from the Houston branch of the International Harvester Co visited Cameron to officially open the Maurity Baldwin Co store on Friday March 1. Credit manager F C Marks sales manager L M Fawcett and others were present. J T Baldwin will manage the Cameron branch and lead preparations for the opening.

Judge Gillis presiding in Austin in burglary case

Judge Graham Gillis of the District Court is in Austin this week presiding in a Travis County District Court. No Cameron court is held except in county court before Judge Kemp. The trial of Brooker and Walker was interrupted when the judge was called away. They face a series of burglary charges.

W T Clark of the Milam County Relief Board said Wednesday the relief offices would be moved soon. The current building has been rented and the administration seeks a suitable new location. Dr Elbra Monroe owns the building now occupied by the relief offices.
