Free Driver Education Bill Aims to Cover Texas Students

Local Highway Work To Begin This Summer

The 3.1 mile SH 36 reconstruction near Cameron will start this summer with plans underway in the Texas Highway Department Hearne office. Outside city limits will gain base surface with high skid resistant aggregate and resurfaced shoulders. The Cameron council favors a 68 foot curb and gutter within the city to create four traffic lanes, with city funding for curb, gutter, and storm sewer.

Van Schedule Listed For Senior Citizens CTCOG Service

Mrs. Patricia Epperson of the Central Texas Council of Governments announces a new CTCOG transportation van for seniors serving Buckholts Ben Arnold Milano and Thorndale. Pickups occur at local post offices on specific February days with 830 to 845 and 945 to 10 times. The trip returns about two hours later and the service is free with optional contributions. Riders must be 55 plus and able to travel to Cameron and Rockdale for shopping. There is no discrimination of riders.
