Knights of Pythias to mark sixtieth anniversary week
Supreme Chancellor Richard S. Witte announces nearly a million members in over six thousand lodges in the United States and Canada will celebrate the order from February 19 to 26. Milam Lodge No. 125 plans a Monday program on February 21. Founded February 19, 1864 in Washington DC by Justin H. Rathbone and twelve members, the order has built orphanages and homes, aided widows, funded education, and supported public works through its Insurance Department which now holds over 20 million in reserves and more than 30 million in subordinate lodge assets.
