December sales of United States Savings Bonds in Milam County reached 61753 dollars, reported by County Bond Chairman Henry Liebman. For 1970 the total sales were 832397 dollars, amounting to 136 percent of the yearly goal of 610000 dollars.
The Marketing Services Division of Dun and Bradstreet begins a national survey to map steps under way to control industrial pollution. Two thousand plants nationwide will be interviewed by full time researchers to identify planned or existing pollution control devices. A computer produced report will publish the completion in May.
Medical receptionists, secretaries, bookkeepers, nurses and technicians employed by physicians in the Temple area will attend a Traveling Educational Symposium on Sunday February 21 at the Holiday Inn Temple. The one day program is sponsored by the Texas Medical Assistants Association inviting all medical assistants within a 100 mile radius to attend. Rod Holcombe Milam County health officer presented a film America for the Cameron Noon Lions Club meeting. The film showed U.S. colors and history to help them render more efficient service to employers and the public.
