Milam County Inter scholastic League Meet Dates Set
Milam officials announce February 18 1st and March dates for county meet in Cameron. Rockdale will host the boys and girls basketball tournaments February 4 5 with Coach H V Montgomery in charge. Tennis in Cameron March 12 starting 9 am. Exhibits in Ada Henderson building under Kathryn Robbins. Special events new to the program include the three R contest and Rural Pentathlon. Admission 10 15 cents for prelims and 1 25 cents for finals. awards for all around Class A and B athletics and Rural Pentathlon.

Road Committee Buys New Tractor and Grade for District No 6
At a Tuesday meeting the local road committee bought a five ton Caterpillar tractor from International Harvester and an Adams Grader by competitive bids. The old tractor will be overhauled for heavy work while the new equipment will serve Road District No. 6, funded by district taxpayers. Shipment is expected soon as roads dry. Commissioner Moore anticipates upcoming work.

Misfortune Follows Milam County Man In Move To Houston
Milam County resident A. Blankenship reports his 18 year old son Robert was killed in Houston on January 13. Robert drove a truck for a road contracting firm after moving with his family from the Emory Cramp place. The family’s Milam friends in Rockdale and Milam County share their sorrow.
