Burglars Entry Blue Moon Cafe Through Floor
Police report burglars gained access to the Blue Moon Cafe by removing floor pieces and entered Sunday morning. The theft included a penny cup, gum, coins from a music box and a baseball game, with both machines damaged and a cigarette machine pulled from the wall. Two men were questioned.

Miss Mary Evans Dies at 92 in Cameron
Miss Mary Olive Evans, 92, died at her Cameron home on Thursday noon December 13, 1956. Born in 1864 in Clark County Mississippi, she was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at Marek-Burns Chapel at 3 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Aubrey Russell officiating. burial followed in Rosebud Cemetery. Survived by five sisters and three brothers, including Mrs Willy Carleton, Miss Lou Evans, Dr Gus Evans Sr, Charlie Evans, and B F Evans.

Fatal Wreck near Silver City on Highway 9
A December 15 early morning crash on Highway 9 near Silver City killed Jim Sam Corpora, 8, of Hearne Route 1, the only vehicle. A passenger, Miss Katherine Rogers, 23, of Hearne, remained in critical condition at St Edwards Hospital after the pickup hit the bridge railing and rolled into a field. Smoke alerted across the street as the Florida children and their caretaker escaped the rear of the house. Mrs Peggy Florida was away. Mrs Adolph Winfield owned the house. Insurance covered furnishings but real property loss was undetermined.
