Cameron public schools will dismiss for Christmas holidays on Tuesday December 22 and resume January 4. A Christmas program will be held in the C. H. Yee High School auditorium Tuesday morning before classes dismiss.

Oil truck crushes leg of Rockdale man

H. Williams of Rockdale was crushed under a heavily loaded Red Banks Oil Co truck late Saturday night after catching a ride and attempting to exit. He was taken to Cameron Hospital for treatment.

Episcopal Christmas Eve Services Planned

Annual Episcopal Church services will begin at 11 20 p m on Thursday December 24 with sung Christmas hymns and a short address by Rector J P Love. The pastor invites all to join in celebrating the birthday of the Babe of Bethlehem.

The Future Farmers group votes to beautify Buckholts School grounds but lacks funds for shrubs and asks for donations of cuttings. The cuttings will be rooted and transplanted in spring after a meeting that included visitors Joe Slovacek and Mr. Kahler.

Scholastic League schedules set for March meets

The county Interscholastic League approved dates for the Senior and Junior Girls and Junior Boys Basketball finals and scheduled playground ball volleyball tennis and rural senior track for Saturday March 20 with remaining events March 26 and 27. Previous plan had March 19 and 20. T. N. Wood notes rules for no interscholastic teague events stay the same unless opposed.

Yeomen Clinch Regional Title With Easy Victory

The Yeomen defeated the Odd Fellows 19 to 0 under a frosty sky to claim their first regional championship in city history. Key plays featured Joe McLean’s 16 yard TD run, Dero Underwood’s 30 yard return, and Turner’s extra points. Coach L C Wood’s squad, after a rough start, finished the season undefeated in district bi district and regional play.

Presbyterians To Have Xmas Program

Christmas services at the Presbyterian church were announced by Rev. C Acrey. The 11 o clock hour will feature a meditation sermon. Night services include anthems and yuletide hymns directed by Mrs. W T Hefley. A Christmas offering for aged ministers will be taken. A Wednesday 7 PM Sunday School Christmas tree program led by Mrs. Meta McCown will be in the basement.

Allen Guess Opens New Magnolia Station in City

A. F. (Allen) Guess, after three years with Magnolia Petroleum under Jesse Brock, opens a Magnolia service station at 7th and Travis. The shop sits on the former Dr. M. C. Sapp home site now moved. Guess offers tires batteries and accessories with washing and greasing racks. It is touted as the largest and most modern in the city and will be a certified Magnolia station offering only Magnolia products.

Yeomen Football Banquet Honors 1936 Lettermen

The Yeomen football banquet will be Friday at 7 50 PM in the gym. Only 200 tickets available, must be bought by Thursday noon. Paul Tyson of Waco will deliver the principal address as fifteen 1936 squad lettermen receive sweaters for the first regional win in school history.

Boeker Buried Ben Arnold Resident Buried

A. C. Boeker died at his home near Ben Arnold on Tuesday night December 8 and was buried Thursday at Ben Arnold. He was an early settler and prominent farmer in the area and was well known, with many lamenting his passing.
