Outlook for Agriculture Good in 1964
Texas economist John G. McManey of the Agricultural Extension Service predicts a strong 1964 for farmers and ranchers with adequate resources. He cites robust national economic activity, rising consumer incomes, and expected gains in autos, housing, and federal spending as positives, with farm output likely to hit a new high and export prospects strong. Farm assets should rise with land values, even as debts grow, supported by improving equity among farm owners.
