Cameron churches plan Christmas services and plays

School Trustees Review Renovation Plans and Policy Update

Cameron school board met for about an hour and approved salary increases and staffing changes. Superintendent Buddy Dulin announced two weeks, barring delays, to complete downstairs gym renovations and noted repairs to the Smith home deeded to the district. A $7,000 fund will cover repairs, carpeting, and kitchen painting. The board added a bilingual education policy requiring a program if 20 or more students in a grade have limited English, with current English difficulties under ten in the lower grades.

Breakin Nets 15000 Haul At Local Jewelry Shop

Cameron's S M Jewelry suffered a Saturday night breakin. Police found a shattered front door at 6 a.m. Sunday and value is estimated at at least 15000 with trays of rings thirty watches five Accutrons and various jewelry taken. A glove was left behind. sheriff offers 100 reward for information.

Burglars Hit Hogan's Texaco Warehouse

Six suspects from Rockdale were fingerprinted and questioned after a Monday night burglary at Hogan's Texaco warehouse. A 700 pound safe with cash and office machines were stolen. Tracks matched several suspects' shoes and a DPS fingerprint expert compared prints. Rewards totaling 200 dollars were offered for information.
