Wary voters weigh Lone Star coaching feats in 1940s SWC
In the Southwest Conference season wrap, Abe Martin's TCU earns top coaching honors for a championship run, Darrell Royal's Texas follows with strong showings including wins over Oklahoma and Texas A&M, and Jess Neely's Rice gains praise for a 34-7 win over Texas and solid Army performance. Royal notes UT gaps early but overcomes them to push near the top. Bill Meek at SMU and Baylor's Sam Boyd also feature in discussion.
