A large crowd of young people attended a lawn party given by Mr Wyatt Wolf in honor of Miss Minnie Wallace of Rockdale. The event featured games on the lawn and the guests departed late after a fine time.
The Eleventh district senatorial convention at Waco resumed balloting with 12 votes for McKinney, 12 for Swann, and 18 for Sinder. After hours of voting and caucus the Falls county delegation urged withdrawing all candidates, nominating J H Bickett or N J Lewellyn. final heavy balloting produced Falls county unani mously nominating D H Boyles, with Milam for Mills and McLennan for Mills, yielding a Falls victory and a confirmed nominee who had long service in the McLennan house district.
McLennan and Smith of Falls presided as the convention adjourned sine die sealing the proceedings. The session ended without further motions or business, marking finality for the gathered delegates.
An expression of gratitude from Anderson Texas thanks the people of Cameron for untiring attention to the speaker and his late sister Lady Thomas during illness and after her death. The note credits Christian neighbors for kindness and sympathy in their darkest hours. The writer promises never to forget their nobleness.
The county clerk issued licenses to marry to J. A. Hill and Effie Scudday, F. G. Bentley and Dula Warren, Orange Cooper and Laticia Cook, Bird Henry and Mollie Fowler, J. L. Glenn and Fannie Lee Williams, Manuel Davis and Lula Sanders, Frederico Marino and Elisa Cadena, A. C. Wiggins and Jennie Sullivan.
Several merchants will return this week from the eastern markets, bringing goods and inventory updates for local shops. The travels aim to replenish stock and strengthen trade relations with eastern suppliers.
