The Walker's Creek Cemetery Association schedules a memorial service for Sunday September 1. Charles Hightower of Freeport Texas will deliver the memorial message. Guests are asked to bring a basket lunch.
Funeral services for Mrs Bennie Hughes Baines forty four were held Saturday at 1 00 pm in the Chapel of Green Funeral Home. She died in Houston and is survived by Melvin L. Baines husband one daughter Jo Ann Tindall three sisters two parents and three grandchildren.
Rosebud Public Schools will begin Tuesday September 3 with an enrollment around 625 in the white schools. Superintendent Tom Cameron notes buses will run and lunch served in the cafeteria. Estimated enrollments: high school 210 junior high 195 elementary 280 and Wilson White 275. new staff include Jimmy Bartlett assistant coach and Barbara Hughes special education. Bartlett native of Rockdale. Hughes formerly taught in Wichita Falls. Bobby Pollard named head coach replacing Bobby Castleman who resigned to coach at Everman.
Minerva Davenport and Brenda Davenport of Austin visited Mr and Mrs Ben Nicholson while other guests came from Cameron Taylor Irving and San Marcos. The Milam Health Department reports seven cases of strep throat and three of gonorrhea for the week ending August 17 1963.
Kir by Boles 81 died Friday in Austin after long illness. He lived in Cameron from 1897 to 1935 and worked as an agent for the Southern Pacific Railroad. Funeral services were Saturday at 2 30 pm in Green Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Survivors include brother Larry Boles of Houston and three sisters Mrs Jimmy Williamson of Wilson, Mrs Lorena Lanmon of Austin, and Mrs Bruce Cain of Austin.
