City Council reviews water inspection citations and library shift
Cameron City Council heard Texas Commission on Environmental Quality notes from the water plant inspection, noting 13 citations mainly for record-keeping and fencing rather than water quality. The major fix is fencing. The library board will dissolve and join city as a department under recreation, then potentially become standalone after charter change. The council approved a parade route for the Dewberry Festival, discussed abandoned homes on Washington Street and sidewalk grant status, and passed two resolutions on identity theft policy and highway maintenance. They also reviewed scheduling options for Williams Community Center, removed 1602 North Houston from noncompliant list, and authorized expenditures.
