Wayne Fisher of Cameron and Bob McLendon of Crocket Texas formed Baylor University’s debate duo at the Natchitoches intercollegiate meet, reaching semis and finishing third with five wins in seven debates and an excellent speaker rating. They previously competed at A and M College and TCU, won Baylor freshmen debates, and Fisher, a Yee High School graduate, is in Baylor’s Concert Band and a pledge of Kappa Kappa Psi as the band toured the Rio Grande Valley and Mexico.

Blood donors in Cameron exceed quota at Red Cross drive
Seventy six people donated a pint last Thursday March 29 at Cameron Red Cross. Six pints net were collected after sixteen were rejected. Solomon Gallon Clubber Rev John Solomon donated his eighth pint to join the gallon club. several others reached seven pints and plan to join next visit of the bloodmobile. The Aluminum Company of America will host the next drive on April 6.
