Despondency Cited in Death of Prominent Howard County Farmer
Herman Mitchell 45 a prominent Ervin township farmer in Howard County died by suicide at his home three miles south of Young America on Wednesday. His body with a bullet wound to the right temple was found in the Mitchell barn by his nephew Richard Parker a local high school freshman at 4 30 pm. Dr D E Lybrook of Young America said death occurred more than an hour before.

Mrs. Anna R. Shank Dies in Chicago
Mrs. Anna R. Shank, wife of Luther R. Shank, died Monday evening in Chicago after a three day illness. Born February 25, 1864 in Camden, she joined the local Methodist church early and later the Mangrovewood First Methodist in Chicago. Her remains were brought to Camden for burial beside the family, with services at the local Methodist church and burial in Camden Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, one sister, and many relatives and friends in Camden and Chicago.

Two Boys Bitten by Mad Dog Near Town
Two of Charles Hanaway’s sons, living about two miles south of town, and Budd Sink were bitten by a mad dog. The Hanaway lads were taken to Indianapolis for treatment. Sink was treated locally for a minor bite. The dog was shot and its head sent to Indianapolis for diagnosis.
