Miss Deloris Wise of Camden is one of fifty seven Indiana graduates awarded a Butler University scholarship for 1938 39. Freshman week runs Sept B 11 and Miss Wise will participate in all activities. Registration for all classes is Sept 12.

In a league game Camden was defeated 16 to 8 by Burrows as misplayed chances and weak fielding contributed to a high Burrows score. Burrows pitchers were Alberts Lacy Nipple and Goyer while Camden used Cline Wagoner and Parker. Deer Creek leads the league at 4–1 after other results Deer Creek 11 Delphi 2 Flora 3 Logansport 1. The Burrows Home Economics Club held a Wednesday afternoon session led by Mrs Mae Brown with Mrs Minnie Smith Mrs Vera Graham and Mrs Joe Brown as hosts. The program and lesson were conducted by Hedderich and Martin of Camden.
The 83rd annual Old Settlers' picnic will be held in Delphi on Saturday August 13. Mrs A C Clauser serves as president of the Old Settlers' association and plans include a daytime street carnival on the public square and an evening event in the city park.
The Add-a-Couple class met July 6 at the Martin home with Jones assisting. Twenty members answered the roll call. Homer Edging led the devotional. Refreshments followed a evening of social time and games. Arrangements were made for a class picnic at Monticello park in August.
The Burrows Congregational Christian church young people will stage Aunt Minnie from Minnesota a three act comedy on July 21 and 22 at the Community Hall over Rasler's store. The recently formed community club has leased the hall and remodeled it for gatherings with a rebuilt stage in the hall’s south end. Cast includes Marjorie Arion Gertrude Schlosser Margaret Graham Carl Watson Zula Adams Jimmie Cates Clyde Simons Wilma Sharps Francis Harmon Mayda Stewart Louise Shlosser and Frederick Simons. Directed by Mrs Katharine Arnot with assist by Miss Lillie Starkey.
The Carroll County chorus has elected Robert Neuenwaeder as the new director. Members feel fortunate and note upcoming rehearsal at the Presbyterian church in July.
