Shanks 73 of Carrollton township died January 14 1932 after a life spent in Deer Creek Cass county Indiana He was born May 7 1858 near Deer Creek married Amy A McCloskey August 19 1883 and had five children He served as township trustee Bank president and elevator owner while living in Deer Creek Camden and Logansport He belonged to the United Brethren church Masonic lodge and Knights of Pythias He and his wife moved back to the road side home where he was seen as a friend to many Funeral services were conducted at the United Brethren church by Rev Dickson with Rev Zartman and Rev Rugenberger assisting Burial was in Center U B cemetery.
