Officers of the National Society of the J A R will designate another American tree of historical importance. Davey Tree Surgeons, donated by former Congressman Martin L Davey, will treat the tree as part of a program to preserve living memorials. The Land Office elm at Marietta, Ohio, restored last year after extensive decline, shaded early Northwest settlements and Revolutionary War scrip plots.
The regular tuberculosis clinic will be held in the Court House January 30th as usual. Judge of the Court grants permission for the Association to use the Grand Jury Room on the 3rd floor for the clinic arrangement.
Tuberculosis workers from Carroll County will attend the Conference on Child Health and Protection in Indianapolis this week. This follows the White House Conference in Washington last November. A special TB workers table will be set for Friday’s banquet in the Riley Room at the Claypool Hotel. Mrs. J P Wason and Mrs. T L Blickenstaff will represent Carroll County Tuberculosis Association.
The Fidelis class of the Baptist church met Wednesday night at the parsonage for its regular monthly gathering. Hostesses included Mrs. Josephine Snoeberger, Mrs. Bender, Mrs. Mary Snoeberger and Mrs. Tayla Raber. Coffee and doughnuts were served.
Through concerted efforts of officers and friends Camden State Bank has been designated as a state depository, one of 242 Indiana banks out of 1100 doing business. Camden, second oldest in Carroll county, has served the community for 61 years.

A Dutch play set in Stuyvesant s era featured Mrs Myron Ives and others while a DAR radio segment from Mount Pisgah entertained. Alternate delegates named to the Continental Congress and gifts to the Benevolent Society were noted along with a birthday cake reception.
Carroll County exhibitors shine at the Eleven County Corn Show in Lafayette with Rey Snoeberger of Rockfield winning grand sweepstakes on a single ear of corn. Roy Snoeberger and John Snoeberger place in multiple classes including second on ten ears, and repeat in best shelling cars standings.
The Farmers Co operative Store formed in 1920 Indiana with 15000 capital stock. Rockfield stockholders bought the Fred Miller store and plan to unite Camden retail stores under one management to cut overhead and boost buying power. The aim is to sell 6175 more stock to Camden residents while capping ownership at ten shares per stockholder.
Mary Elizabeth Jackson Kleckner died at noon Saturday January 10, 1931, at five miles southeast of Camden. Born March 28, 1852 in Cass County Italiana she was 79 years 9 months and 13 days old. Survived by husband Stephen F Kleckner eight children twenty three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral conducted at home Monday afternoon by Rev Wm Angle. She lived much of life in Jackson Township and was active member of the community.

At the annual meeting of Camden State Bank stockholders and directors the bank elected officers for 1931: President Charles M. Kennedy, Vice President Noah Fouts, Cashier Mabel Mayne, Assistant Cashier Asa t. Cashier-Junior Shanks. The year ended with the bank in excellent condition. Frank Williams and family of South Bend visited Pearl Campbell and family in town.
Tae Jackson Township Home Economics club met Thursday afternoon at Mrs. Carrie McCain's home. Eda Lake, Ruth Hatton, Marjorie Lynch, and Martha Paden assisted. Thirty-eight members and six visitors attended. County Federation president Mrs. A. C. Clauser of Delphi spoke on "Yellowing Day into the West." A social hour followed with refreshments. February meeting planned for Mrs. Stella Johnson's home.
Eva and Orlando Sibbitt spent the weekend with Emerson Everett and family near Flora, according to the Record News.
Wilbur Neher and family of Anderson and Mr. Stinehur of Indianapolis spent the weekend with 8. F. Neher and family, joined by Philco Radio-Herb, Smith- Delphi.
The county democratic committee hosts the Jackson Day Banquet this evening at the Flora Community building. Chairman John L. Hanna has the event planned for a large turnout. Indiana Democrat Paul V. McNutt will speak, with Ralph Hanna as toastmaster and Jason Been coordinating a special program.
Burr Balser, a prominent young Republican, is named postmaster of Delphi by Congressman Fred Purnell to succeed Morton Hefner whose term ends January 23. All other candidates withdrew in his favor. Balser is known in Camden for overseeing the insurance department at the Farmer's State Bank.
The State Veterinary Association held sessions in Indianapolis January 20 21 22 with a banquet and lecture by Dr A F Schalk of Ohio State University on veterinary science for agriculture. The talk urged action to prevent livestock diseases and warned of a shortage of trained veterinarians, stressing the industry’s importance and need for farmers bankers and lawmakers to attend.
Dr John Timothy Stone president of the Presbyterian Theological Seminary of Chicago will be the principal after dinner speaker at the Presbyterian Men's Brotherhood meeting in Logansport on Monday night January 26. The event pages a renowned world traveler and writer as the most outstanding figure in the Presbyterian church today.
Announcement of the marriage of Rozzella Gish and Russell Gardner. The ring ceremony occurred Wednesday at 10:00 A M at the Lutheran parsonage with Rev. Kahl officiating. Attendants were Floyd Gish and the bride and groom soon left for a motor trip to Columbus Ohio. The newlyweds will live with the bride's mother in Camden.
The National Conference of organizations supporting the Eighteenth Amendment issues a firm opposition to any referendum or movement toward repeal. It argues the amendment was adopted by proper process and should only be repealed by the same constitutional process, defending representative government and prohibiting any action that weakens or nullifies prohibition.
The January gathering of Flora Twenty and Five Club took place this afternoon at Mrs. Charles Cline’s residence with Mrs. Floyd Wheeler as assistant hostess. Edith Brown, De Schermerhorn, and Jean Spider led the program on Response Current Events Shrines of America Our Public Schools Reading. Refreshments followed as members enjoyed a social hour.

William Huff, 33, of Burrows, was hospitalized in satisfactory condition after a pistol in his pocket discharged while he chopped wood at his home. The accidental discharge left a bullet wound in his left side. Doctors expect his recovery.
