On Monday evening January 13 at 8:00 the Carroll County Community Program honors the Delphi National Guard Company the 51st Infantry and volunteers heading to training next week. The American Legion Drum and Bugle Corps will perform and other community groups will contribute numbers. Legion Posts of Delphi and Flora will attend in a body. The event is free and open to the public.

Mrs. Margaret M. Harter 57 died Monday morning at St Josephs hospital after a yearlong illness. Funeral at Flora Christian church Wednesday at 2 pm with Rev W Hays Miller officiating. She is survived by husband Reuben a daughter Mary Jane a son in law a brother and a step sister. Burial in Maple Lawn cemetery.

Volunteers Leave for Service Tuesday in Carroll County
Five Carroll county Selective Service trainees will depart Delphi at 11 a m Tuesday January 14 for Indianapolis for induction examination. Herman Theophile clerk of the Selective Service Board announced seven youths have volunteered, with five to be chosen and announced Saturday.
