Oldest Carroll County Resident Elizabeth Boone Dies at 102
Elizabeth Boone 102, believed oldest Carroll County resident, died Monday at her daughter’s home after four days of pneumonia. Born June 10, 1836 in Franklin County Virginia, she was daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Oyler. Survived by daughters Martha and Mae, and Mary Meador, with final rites at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Maple Lawn Cemetery. She lived through 26 of 32 U.S. presidents and witnessed steamships, railroads, airplanes, and radio.
