The Second District Sunday School Convention was held at Rockfield Christian church on Sunday November 2, 1980. Attendees from Rock Creek Washington and Jackson townships heard Rev. Cecil Atkinson speak on Nice Green Leaves and enjoyed music by local groups. A late afternoon lunch fostered fellowship before an evening program featuring Mr. Baker of Camden and Rev. Bender with additional performances by the Camden M I Church Sink Sisters and Fern Montgomery.

The Woman's Literary club met at Dr Kennedy's home. Dr Moa Kennedy presented a paper on Early Portrait and Figure Painting. Mrs Baker and Mrs Wise Wyatt shared data on St Louis attractions. Next meeting set with Mrs Dorothea Magwart in two weeks.
Virgil L. Sink thanks Jackson Township voters for their Tuesday election support and vows to stay faithful to past efforts in serving the community.
Dr Henry B Longden director of the Edward Rector Scholarship Foundation reports four Carroll county students receive Rector scholarships at DePauw University this year Frederick Fouts and Robert Hunt of Camden Norman Schmidt of Carrollton and Owen Stewart of Ockley Also a Cecil Kennedy barn fire occurred one mile east of town Other social notes include visits and guests among local families and a first time voter at the polls Truman Cline The Case family hosted guests from Lafayette and Logansport as winter visits continue
The Red Cross Chapter of Carroll County sponsors an Armistice Day program with Delphi and Pittsburg schools and a Delphi parochial school. Patriotic societies aid. The 10 00 A M parade begins at the school and proceeds to the Soldiers Monument for a program with scouts, veterans, and Legion groups in attendance.

D A R Regent Mrs W I Bradshaw. American Legion Auxiliary Mrs Sue Wingard. Red Cross Mrs L W Bowen. High school band performs. National Guard to salute with faces east at 11. If weather fails, ceremony moves inside the courthouse. Reed C Schermerhorn presides.
Paul Kahl the captain of an unbeaten Nebraska team last year and a two year All-State end is described as a 165 pound five foot nine inch blocker and strong defensive player. He attends Carthage College this year as a student.
October honor roll shows First Grade names including Carolyn Hallam and Bobby Harmon. Second Grade lists several students though missing third and fourth due to Miss Guard’s illness. Fifth Grade includes Mary Frances Welling and Patricia Lynch among others. Sixth Grade lists Anna Case Roy Snipes Jane Witter and Fern Miller. High School names Marian Wyatt Esther Ringer Opal Hicks Myra Witter Pauline Bechdelt Frances Wolfe Alice Teel Rosemary Snoeberger Dorothy Myer Ruth Snipes Margaret Teel Helen Wallace Mary Bohannon Ellen Robeson.
