Mrs. Darrell-Goaz, 50, of west Rockfield, was seriously injured Thursday when her car rolled over three times after losing control. She sustained injuries to her left shoulder and neck as the vehicle overturned. The crash occurred around 1 o clock.
On Saturday August 19 forty guests gathered at the De Adam residence in Chicago to witness the marriage of Ger aldine Eleanor De Adam to Charles Paden. The bride wore white taffeta with a fingertip veil and carried white roses and lilies of the valley. Attendants were William Paden and Elaine De Adam. After a reception the couple left for a short honeymoon and will reside in Chicago after October 1.
Camden Public Schools plan a September 1 opening with noon dismissal and a September 5 return. New arithmetic and reading texts will be adopted grades 1-8 while high school courses expand to chemistry and shorthand. The faculty includes Principal Robert Hunt and teachers such as Mildred Wyatt, Merle Michael, Alice Breitwieser, and Mary Robinson.
The 1939 peach crop is projected to be about 10 million bushels larger than last year. Indiana yields 353 000 bushels, Michigan about 2 730 000, with shipments likely through Benton Harbor market. Elberta remains favorite for canning, joined by South Haven Halehaven and the large J H Hale peach.
The Shank family held a reunion at Paden park with about forty members. At a late business meeting the group voted to move the gathering to the last Sunday in July at Paden park, one month earlier than in prior years. Oldest attendee was W A Shank of Flora. others listed include Ernest and Verd Shanks of Kokomo, Carl Shanks, Charlie Thomas, Virgil Nance and family, Marion Langston and son, Ted Shanks and two sons of Bowling Green, George Beeler, Bert Wallace of Logansport, Ray Shanks and family, Jesse Kendall and grandson Dukie, Quince Wallace and family, and Mary Kinsey and James Hare.
The Snoeberger family gathered Sunday August 27 at Padell park for the 39th annual reunion with 83 members present. After dinner a short program of music readings and speeches followed by social visiting. Officers elected for next year are President Anton Ritchey Vice President John Hibner and Secretary Treasurer Geraldine Wagoner. Next year will be at Blora park.
Six Carroll county students joined 428 Purdue scholars on the Distinguished Student honor list for the second semester of the 1938-39 academic year. Purdue enrolled 6,517 students that term, and placement required an A average in all courses.
