The new law, effective July 1, raises the exemption to 16 dollars from levy, limits garnishment to individual income, and applies to all under the old law. It sets conditions for garnishee income, noting employed and non employed scenarios, with exemptions for certain earnings and investments.
Carroll County REMC awarded a contract to Ulem Construction Corporation of Lebanon Indiana to build 365 miles of lines. Work must start within 21 days of notification and be completed in 180 work days. Wolffe to supervise three staking crews and local crews will assist with tree trimming and easements. Lines planned for short term energization in Danae, Jefferson, Adams areas with phases starting immediately.
The act expands duties to report auto accidents costing $25 or more to the Indiana Department of Public Safety within hours. Officials including police, sheriffs, coroners, highway board, state police, and Drivers’ License must file reports every 30 days or daily if needed. Reports are privileged, may be inspected by bona fide interests, with costs from the general fund.

Mrs Noah Fouts, 74, died Wednesday evening at her home near Deer Creek. A prominent Garrett County woman, she was deeply active in church and community service alongside her husband.

The groom worked at the Anaconda plant in Marion. They plan to celebrate their first anniversary and will reside at their home after a trip.
The Ninth District Fine Arts Festival will be an all day event in Covington Indiana on May 11. Registration begins at 10:00 with a noon luncheon. Reservations due by May 6 to Mrs L G Faust. Music art and literature featured with displays of pictures crafts and antiques by district club women.

A State Accident Prevention Bureau study shows women drivers had fewer accidents in the first two months of the year among 2,346 drivers. The report notes most incidents occurred daytime during bad weather and weekday rush hours, with ages 30 to 49 most involved.
The Camden 4H Hustlers gathered May 4 at Community Hall to organize. Officers elected include President Carolyn Hedderich, Vice President Marjorie Shonk, Secretary Margaret Hedderich, and Pianist Majorie Shonk. Mary Fisher named Recreational Leader. A project on etiquette was planned and refreshments followed. Next meeting set for May 18 at Arjorie Shonk's home. members urged to bring musical settlements.
