Historic Bethlehem Church on Taylors Island known as the Mother of Methodism on the Eastern Shore will celebrate its 151st birthday with a day of services starting at 11 A M. Reverend J B Newton of Norfolk Virginia will deliver the sermon. At 2 30 P M the Young People’s choir from Grace M E Church South will sing and lead the congregation. Senator George N Radcliffe will speak in the afternoon as relics of early Methodism are exhibited and former pastors are invited to attend.

Large Peach Crop Forecast For Year

Record Oyster Replanting Sets State High
The State Conservation Commission planted a record 425400 bushels of oysters in recent weeks under chairman Robert F. Duer. Seed beds in the upper bay proved strong, enabling 150000 bushels moved to rocks in the Chesapeake Bay and substantial transfers from polluted or underperforming areas to better growing sites across Patuxent, Wicomico, Nanticoke, Tangier Sound, West River, and other tributaries.
