The Women’s Democratic and Independent Club staged a two night minstrel benefit at the Elks Lodge Central Square for the Cambridge unemployment fund. Mayor’s wife Mrs Richard M Russell led as host with Yvonne Fortin directing. Encore worthy performances by Mrs Alice McCarthy and Bert Ryan drew strong applause. The production moved to the Cambridge Home for the Aged with Tuberculosis Hospital audiences to follow.
