Industrial Assn Exhibit Promises Warm Week Ahead

Cambridge Industrial Association members plan a warm themed exhibit next week to showcase fuel heating units from coal gas oil and related equipment. Demonstrations will run as Harding A Greene of Cambridge Electric Light Company presides at Tuesday's luncheon. Exhibitors include Cambridge Gas Light, Carstein Coal, Standard Oil Mass Wharf Coal Met Coal American Oil Sears Roebuck and R C Sullivan Pump Equipment.

Protest Against Mass. Ave Gas Station Plan

Strong protest grows against a plan for a small garage and gasol ine filling station at 1158 1162 Mass Ave. Petitioners Harry N Guterman and Samuel S Barker seek a second class garage for two cars and 3000 gallons of petroleum. Councillor F J Roche says wooden frame buildings will be removed for an office lubritorium and underground tanks. Rev Augustine J Hickey opposes the station saying it harms neighborhood property values.

Anderson Seeks Increased Parking Privileges at City Council

At the February council meeting a push by Councillor Anderson for more parking privileges in business districts dominated the agenda. A motion to delay policeman Peter Murphy’s pension was also approved, while other items included funding for a Tuberculosis Hospital project and mayoral petitions for widows’ annuities. The session lasted about 35 minutes amid a storm and audience chatter.

Cambridge Armory Exposition and Food Fair Opens Spring Season

Central square announces a three day Exposition and Food Fair in the Cambridge Armory from March 20 to 22. Ninety six booths will display prize products of Cambridge industrial concerns with daily attractions, a beauty show, and affordable admission. Thousands are expected from the nearby buying center as prosperity and spring arrive.
