Council Holds Its Last 1937 Session

The 1836-37 City council closed with little surprise at Tuesday night’s first meeting. Mayor appointee withdrawals occurred as Bremer W. Pond lost a Planning Board vote 11 to 4 and Cornelius F.P. Inauguration plans set for Cambridge’s 40th mayor

Plans for the inauguration of Attorney John W. Lyons as the 40th Cambridge mayor are completed. Lyons will be inducted at 10:00 A.M. January 3 in the City Council chamber, with Governor Hurley and Attorney General Dever expected to attend. The chamber will be largely open to the public, with Rev. John A. Butler named chaplain and Rep. James F. Mahoney to lead ushers. Lyons invites Cambridge citizens to attend.
