Hatfield Discusses Middlesex Population Budget and History

County Treasurer Charles T. Hatfield spoke to noon meeting about Middlesex County revealing it is the second largest by area and second in valuation, but first in population at about 1,000,000. He noted an $84,000 budget increase over 1985 and said there is no limit on district attorney spending for criminal court costs.

Kiwanis Minstrels Delight Audience at Rindge School

A crowded Edw. W. Quinn Auditorium hear the Kiwanis Club Minstrel Show 3rd annual event to aid underprivileged children. Cambridge Singers director Dr. George R. Whoriskey led, with Helen M. Whoriskey and Clare Blessington at the piano. Mayor Lynch was playfully kissed in a comic interlude.

Protest Heard Over Central Square Package Store License

State A B C Commission in Boston heard six appeals from a local License Board grant for Central Square Package Store Inc and objections by church officials.
