Police Inspectors Nab Four Thieves and Thugs in Gunfight

Inspectors Carroll Glennon and Nixon of headquarters captured four suspects described as auto thieves hand bag snatchers and gasoline gyppers after a brief gunfight in which nine shots were fired. They are rounding up more alleged members of the gang.

City Council Votes 10 Abolish Cemetery Commission

Boy Scout visitors presented a cedar gavel to the City Council during a Tuesday session. Trooper John F. Watson, the spokesman, said the gavel was carved from the strongest wood obtainable.
