City budget talks hinted at during midweek meetings

City officials held and discussed possible budget hearings with the City Manager and City Treasurer. Police Chief Leshy was in conference with the new Treasurer, and Stoughton Bell and Paul Frank of the Taxpayers' Association talked with the city manager. Mayor Corcoran awarded ARP certificates to Rindge School graduates Thursday.

School Bd Debates Several Problems

The School Board met for two hours Monday night with Mayor Corcoran leading. The Teachers' Club seeks a $20 raise for teachers and staff, a budget decision sent to city managers. Atkinson orders removal of the school supply room from City Hall basement. Daly rules that staff not legally created between Jan 5 and Feb 2 cannot be paid, excluding the high school headmaster.
