Great enthusiasm marks Co. G open gym meet

The Co G open gym meet drew 18 plus entries and 20 heats led by a fast 24.5 second 20 yard dash won by Freedman of Harvard. Searle and Churchill posted 58 seconds in the 440, while McGuinness and Fernald raced to the 88 yard win. Heald topped the mile pace, with Har vard lights Gibney Hanley and Somers noted in field events. The program featured team races St Alphonsus A A and Brookline AC plus Latin schools, with Cambridgeport gym prevailing in the final relay. The St Mary I N F B 455 meets Sunday.

Assisted by many costumed ladies, the event featured Strachan's Orchestra and a line of artist contributors while committees managed reception hall printing music and decorations under President Robert Law.

Banquet of St Marys Society Inspires Clergy and Public Officials

More than 300 clergy and lay leaders gathered Sunday night at C G A hall for St Marys Society of the Holy Name banquet. Father Woods as spiritual director was praised for revitalizing zeal. Father Domly and Jeremiah E Burke of the Boston public schools delivered speeches highlighting religious dedication and moral influence. Continued on page 8.
