Leland Bickford of the Yankee Network will address the Harvard Square Businessmen's Association dinner at the Continental tomorrow night. His topic is Subversive Agencies at Work in Massachusetts with insinuations about some lawmakers being worth a pound of tea. The event starts after 6:30 PM with public attendance available at the Continental Hotel.
The Cambridge School Department faces repeated funding clashes, with hearings in the State House before the Municipal Finance Committee on three bills. Mayor Lyons and Attorney Stoughton Bell backed two measures, Rep Mahoney and Rep Hillis sponsoring the others, seeking budget control changes and mayoral approval pathways. About fifty attendees heard Bell describe the issue as historical, tracing Cambridge’s pleas since 1907.
