Elmer H. Bright failed to win the city treasurer post as Cambridge councilors rejected the mayor’s sixth nominee in a Wednesday night session. Several votes were recorded with five yes and seven no on Bright as the council also tabled a $2100 executive- department appropriation and approved other orders. An exchange with Cambridge Industrial Association executive secretary Jeremiah F. Downey urged merchants to support worthy appeals.
