Mrs. R. E. Hawley of Terre Haute arrived Monday for several days visit with her sister Mrs. Lottie E. Copeland and other relatives renewing acquaintances with former neighbors and visitors of the Centennial.

Mr and Mrs L L Paul and their daughter Margaret Ann and son Richard of Indianapolis visited Mr and Mrs Will Guyton after Sunday dinner. Mr and Mrs Earl Paul of Cincinnati also joined the gathering for the meal.
Mrs Roy Paul of Indianapolis and Mr and Mrs Lowell Cornthwaite of New Castle plan Thursday visits with Mr and Mrs Squire Cornthwaite.

The centennial schedule lists D A R marker dedication at West Main Street Junction of U S 40 and State Road 1 at 10 30 AM followed by a centennial queen crowning in front of the Tribune office on Walnut Street to Center Street. Afternoon band concerts run 1 00 PM to 4 30 PM at Creitz Park featuring Hagerstown and Knights Town groups plus Richmond American Legion and Lincoln High School bands. Auto stunts at North Foote Street 7 30 PM and a 9 00 PM dance with Bob Armstrong's Orchestra cap the day. parade, races, and nightlife fill the town festivities.
Tonight's event caps a three day centennial festival with a costume contest judged by Mrs. Rex Murray A H Hines and Rev. Frank Guyatt awarding five dollar prizes for best historical and grotesque costumes for adults and best old fashioned and comic children categories. The Creuz Park Horse Show opened Tuesday with a large crowd and fine displays. Winners include H F Caldwell and C L Gifford in Percheron classes, Chas Kirlin and Delbert Martin among Belgians, and multiple mares and geldings across sections with entries from Fountain City Milton Richmond Hagerstown and Cambridge City. Continuous results listed with horse and mare awards across classes 2 through 14.
The 76 year old Carl R Garling was fatally injured Friday evening when struck by a gravel truck operated by Harley Bopp near Dublin Indiana as he walked across the road after talking with a prospective customer. Garling's body was taken to Lancaster Ohio for funeral and burial. He leaves three daughters Mrs Bailey Frank Creighton Dearborn Mich Mrs E E Smith Royal Oak Mich and four sons Chester Frederick Royal Oak Mich Earl Flint Mich and Carl Lancaster Ohio. Surviving relatives also include a daughter in law and several grandchildren. The driver was cleared of blame by police after investigation.
The Kiwanis Club held an outdoor dinner at the Lutheran Church Aid rooms in agen Mya evening. Dr. Kenyon and Dr. Wilson led, with Prof. Funston of Earlham College as speaker on Political and Economical Conditions in Europe based on his two years abroad.
Father Albert Schad of St Elizabeths Catholic church near Vin Indianapolis is transferred to St John s. He was a congenial, well liked priest who cooperated in community efforts. A farewell party was held in his honor with best wishes from partners and the public.

Reports from music, membership and junior activities committees noted 28 paid members and $10.50 raised at a recent market. Mrs. Fred Otte received an appointment as mate Some Defense chairman by State president Mrs. Edna Harris. Vocal trio Mrs. Olin Davis, Mrs. C. M. Sardar and Mrs. Robert Peelle with pianist Mrs. Sanford Jacobs will travel to Ohio Tuesday to compete in the National Music contest linked to the Legion and Auxiliary National Convention. Next meeting set for Monday October 6.
