Elaine Teeple of Decatur spent weekend with Margaret Ann Bachmann. Don Wolford of Troy Ohio spent weekend with the Judkins. Arlie Hunnicutt and Everett Money of Dublin spent Labor Day at Clifty Falls and Madison. Cloyd Armstrong and daughters of Lima were Howard's guests. Doris and Harold Hunnicutt visited Clarence Ingermann in Connersville. Maude Drischel of Chattanooga spent Labor Day with the Loebs and relatives. Orville Thalls in Indianapolis. Kathleen Ressler leaves for Sheridan to teach again. Nelson Woodhead’s family of Richmond visited Monday. Gladney Ewers and daughter from South Bend guests of Vern Pritchard. Valetta Bachmann returned from St Louis. Mrs Clifford Marson underwent major surgery at Fayette Memorial and is improving. Carl DeHays visiting after completing data on chain stores and taking a job with Shillito Corp in New York. Martindales and Veatchs escaped serious injuries in a Kentucky car crash while en route to caves.
The community urges high school enrollment at 20 percent of the population and strong teacher training. Class sizes target 30 in grade school and 45 in high school, with ample facilities and funds per child. A slogan proclaims Better than most, as good as the best. External support calls for united effort to achieve superior schooling.
Thompson and Johnson hardware sold twelve Heat rolas during August due to August ads in The Tribune. The I G A Store drew a large crowd at a Cambridge City grocery opening last Saturday. M A Burt credits The Tribune for a wonderful day. Beecher Johnson sold 150 bushels of corn and 30 bushels of seed oats from a four line ad last week and planned to run it two weeks. Wayne county earned strong representation in the State Fair 4-H club baking display. Winners include Betty Jane Langston Phyllis Howard and Frances Fryman from the Cambridge City community and Isabel Jane Knoll from Richmond. The成果 reflects a notable Wayne county showing at the county fair.
Maebelle Howard of Cambridge City has been granted an admission card and will enter Indiana University next week. Enrollment in classes begins Monday September 15 with regular classroom work starting the following day, per university officials.
The Beam family reunion will be held at Creitz Park on Sunday September 14. Carl Beam serves as committee chairman of the reunion association. Mrs Stanley Scheidler and daughters Charlene and Mary visited niece Mrs Loring Cannon in Muncie last Friday.

Mrs Emory Baker and family from Dayton and Mrs Smith with Billy Van Camp from Chicago visited R F Callaway. Aaron Crawford of Tennessee stayed with nephew Earl Crawford and family. Rev F C McCormick enjoyed a vacation and Christian church services resume Sept 7. John Doddridge hosted guests from Syracuse Will Hunt Cambridge City Marfiel Cain Hagerstown Doris Doddridge. William Huddleston and La Verne visited Muncie. Missionary Society meets at the church basement, topic Searching for Treasures in the Caribbean, Bertha Parker presenting. John Wampler aged 89 died last Thursday night at his home two miles west of the Pleasant Hill church. Survived by daughter Mrs Mary Doddridge and three sons Charles Frank and Clarence all of Dublin area. Funeral at Locust Grove church Sunday afternoon with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Rev C D Werking officiated.
Elmer Lawrence aged 56 years died suddenly at 6 o clock last Wednesday evening at the home of Griff Cooney in Milton Indiana where he had resided for several months since the death of his niece Mrs Carl Cooney. He had lived with Mr and Mrs Carl Cooney for fourteen years. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 PM at the Nazarene church Cambridge City with Rev Barhrar officiating. Burial followed in Riverside cemetery.

They camped at Santa Monica, toured Yosemite hotels, witnessed the fire fall and bear feeding, and enjoyed a riverbank barbecue with a coin of cowboy entertainment.
