Mr and Mrs Howard Higgs spent Wednesday in Indianapolis with friends, enjoying a social outing and visiting local spots with companions.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank McDaniel and Harry Elliott of Richmond spent Memorial Day weekend with relatives and friends in the area.
A. J. Simpson, among the county’s few surviving Civil War veterans, lives in the north part of the county and made a social visit to the Tribune last week. He has been a reader for over forty years and has another marked ahead. The paper looks forward to his visit next year.
Local residents across Germantown and nearby towns enjoy weekend visits and gatherings. Families from Belmont Texas to Cambridge City and Indianapolis visited relatives, hosted dinners, and attended church and club events.
The Odd Fellows of Five Counties will hold a June 17 picnic at Creitz Park in Cambridge City. Wayne Lodge hosts a large gathering from this and four surrounding counties with families and friends, expected to crowd the park and prompt attendance planning to avoid congestion.
Announcement of the marriage between Miss Marie Doles of Clarksburg Indiana and Thomas Shannon son of Mrs. Mary Shannon of this city on May 12. They reside on his farm northwest of the city. Mrs. Shannon taught in Clarksburg schools for years. The Tribune extends congratulations.
Freeda and Margaret Conner with Mr and Mrs A G Cunningham of Dublin were dinner guests Saturday evening of Mr and Mrs Frank Woody of Centerville.
Mesdames Harry Bachmann C F Close Pearl Van Buskirk Harry Kuster Paul Drischel K P Diffenderfer with Mrs George Babcock and Mrs Carl Boyd of Richmond will be bridge guests today (Thursday) of Mrs Clarence Ingermann in Connersville. Mrs Harry Stannah hosts her Dinner club at Church street this Thursday evening.
Mrs. Jesse Kellam spent the weekend in Indianapolis with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kellam and their newborn granddaughter Carolyn Jane.

Virgil Eaton and daughter from Connersville spent Sunday with Mrs. Robert Wharton’s grandchildren. Mrs. Wharton shows slight improvement. George Babcock and Mrs. Carl Boyd of Richmond visited Wednesday. Eastern Star members attended a Rushville chapter reception for Mrs. Hugh Foss and district deputy. Rinda Smith and Albert of Hagerstown visited Helen Kuster and relatives Sunday. Mrs. Rose Ulerich remains in critical condition with no improvement.
Mrs Pearl Tiefenthaler is slowly recovering from a nervous breakdown, as reported by family and medical staff. The notice notes her gradual improvement and ongoing care.
Mrs. Sarah Stombaugh hosted Sun day guests Mr and Mrs Harry Stombaugh and Mr and Mrs Harry McMahan of Indianapolis. The group visited Mrs Leonora Cartwright at Mrs Elizabeth Mitchel’s home in Liberty. Cartwright, though improving, will not be able to use her foot for two months.

Miss Marjorie Fetters spent the weekend in St. Marys Ohio with relatives. Robert Elliott of Indianapolis spent Wednesday with his mother Mrs Emma Elliott.
Mrs. Paul Drischel attended the funeral of Bert Berger of Kokomo at Liberty on Saturday. Berger was well known locally and was the son in law of the late Robert and Mrs. Steele, former residents of this city.
Mr and Mrs Edward Wilson spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs Rose Wilson in Connersville. Mrs Wilson mother of Edward underwent surgery Monday.
Miss Laura Straub of Indianapolis travels with Mrs. Flora Henwood to spend Decoration Day in leisure, visiting and socializing with friends during the holiday period.
Mr and Mrs Willard Sturgis and Mr and Mrs Arthur Sturgis, all of Richmond, spent Sunday with their parents Mr and Mrs Harry Sturgis.
Mr and Mrs Harry Kuster hosted house guests over Decoration Day. Visiting were Mr and Mrs W D Williams and daughters of Columbus Ohio Martin Lannon also of Columbus and Tom Coke and daughter Miss Iona of Newark Ohio.
