Mrs John A Logan visiting Richmond in 1868 observed Confederate graves adorned with flowers and bunting. She informed General Logan who issued a GAR order designating May 30 for national remembrance. This year marks the sixtieth anniversary and the day honors heroes of all American wars.
Community members and all citizens plan Memorial Day services with a parade from Red Men’s hall to Baptist church then to the river bridge and Siverstas cemetery. Flowers may be dropped at Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Graves by Tuesday noon. The Baptist church program includes band selections, poetry, addresses by Rev. E Elmer E. Davis, patriotic songs, and a benediction by Rev. Rossa Cadle Nokes.
Lincoln high school held commencement in the auditorium with a packed audience. W P Dearing of Oakland City college delivered a praised address on The Fine Arts of Appreciation calling for closer parent child ties and pursuit of higher aims. Superintendent Emerson Cloyd and Principal Harry Winter issued diplomas to 35 graduates as music and a class photo closed the program.
The gas company petition hearing scheduled for May 24 1928 is postponed due to Commissioner McIntosh being absent from Indianapolis. Wilfred Jessup Richmond attorney says a new date will be set upon the commissioner's return and towns will be notified to ensure fairness. Richmond Indiana May 19 1928.
C. T. Wright reports from Los Angeles dated May 14 that they will depart eastward on the 22nd with Indiana as the planned destination.
Mr and Mrs William F Sterling plan to leave for California around June 4 with the aim of making it their future home.
The will of Mayme C. Wilson bequeaths household goods to her daughter Mary C. Miller and the family car to son David Wilson. She leaves $1,000 to First Presbyterian Church of Cambridge City. Jasper Case named executor with one-third of the Wilson property to be sold for estate expenses and a 10-acre Henry County tract to be disposed of for the estate. One-eighth to the daughter and three-eighths in a trust until she is 30, with the remaining half in a separate trust to be received by the son at age 25.
Albert and William George and their families, natives and former residents of Cambridge City, came from Muncie last Sunday to witness the dedication services of the memorial tablet honoring Civil War soldiers and sailors buried in Capitol Hill cemetery.
Kathleen Ressler visited Anderson Sunday to spend time with a girl teacher friend, enjoying a social outing and conversation.

Richard Tyner and Elisha Pritchard led rituals, Ulysses Eaton and others honored various wars, and Dr. Ross Cadle delivered a forceful address amid light local turnout. The event drew many attendees from Muncie Hamilton Ohio and beyond.
Mrs. Lou Brumfield writes from the Masonic Home Hospital in Franklin Indiana where she is learning to be a nurse and receiving a nurse’s salary while subscribing to the Tribune. She expresses longing for news from her hometown.
The Helen Hunt Club held its last meeting of the year. Miss Be atrice Swallow read a paper on Johannesburg, Gold City of the World. Mrs. Davis presented Acres of Diamonds at Kimberly by Mrs. Hughes.
Harry Monger has gone to Cincinnati and taken employment with one of the largest casket factories in the country and will move his family to the city at an early date.
Mr and Mrs John Starr of Richmond spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr and Mrs Charles Marson the latter a sister of Mrs Starr in an extended social visit.
Memorial services in Dublin Indiana on Sunday May 27 at about 2 pm with Harry E. McClain of Shelbyville giving the address. Music by the Orphans Home band of Nightstown, a 40 child juvenile group. Ex-service men urged to wear uniforms. under LeRoy Tour post American Legion auspices.
