Rev. F Patrick Dennison known as the Irish Evangelist will conduct revival at the Baptist church Greensburg Kentucky from Monday June 5 through Friday June 16 nightly at 7 30. Church choir provides music and special numbers are highlighted. Public is invited to attend.
BLOOMINGTON Indiana University state scholarships awarded to Jacquelin Sandlin Richmond and Richard Hudson Cambridge City from Wayne county for the coming year. Forrest Lacy Jr Fountain City and Frances Doll Milton named alternates. Lacy is enrolled at IU now. the others will enter next Fall. Scholarships cover remission of contingent fees and honor in a field of 988 candidates.
Mr and Mrs Dan Chapman of Richmond spent Sunday with his father Carl Chapman, sharing time and family moments in the city.
Mrs B F Southard of Terre Haute recently visited cousin Mrs William Guyton. Mr and Mrs Harry Bertsch plan a move from Ayres property on Lincoln Drive to Krahl home on Shawnee Ave at month’s start. Mr and Mrs A L Waltz of New Lisbon were guests of Mr and Mrs E O Beeson at services. Mr and Mrs Wm Guyton hosted J M Stafford Mrs Amanda Taylor and Miss Mabel Stafford of Richmond as Sunday guests.
Sunday visits with relatives north of Greensfork and hosts at Milton and Fountain City lead to meetings of D A R and Home Economics clubs. Local honors include Lincoln High School scholarship for 1939 graduate Harold Wadman and A L A Good Citizenship award. Memorial services planned by American Legion with Lincoln band. several residents attend events in Russiaville Cambridge City Richmond and Muncie.
Poppy Day on Saturday May 27 sees millions of red poppies worn in memory of World War dead. Auxiliary members from Lawrence H. Bertsch and Dublin units will pass baskets seeking contributions for disabled veterans and dependents. Poppies, crepe paper replicas, are produced by disabled workers in government hospitals and poppy workrooms, with all funds aiding veterans welfare.
The Baptist church hosts a Vacation Bible School from June 5 to June 16 directed by Pastor Rev. H. S. Burns with several church leaders. Classes run daily 1 PM to 3 30 PM for ages 4 through 16. Roy Copeland spent Sunday in Terre Haute with Minnie Hawley. Robert Harmeier of Indiana University visited his parents I. J. L. Harmeier.
Mrs. Sallie Brengman confined to bed in Corydon Indiana shows improvement and expects several weeks before she can work again. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gaar and family of Chesterfield visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. M H Gaar.
Mrs. Cletus Brown of Indianapolis will spend the last of the week with Mr and Mrs J C Edwards and relatives near Losantville. Mrs Clyde Miller of Richmond visited former neighbors and friends. Mr and Mrs Blanchford Gentry daughter Alice and husband and Ralph Gentry of Indianapolis were Sunday evening guests of Mr and Mrs Harry L Kuster.
