Poppy Day Observance Urged by Legion Auxiliary
The American Legion Auxiliary's Lawrence H. Lesnich unit urges all to wear poppies on Saturday. Volunteers will distribute poppies citywide to raise funds for disabled veterans and dependents of those who died. Poppies are made by veterans at Marion Indiana Veterans Hospital. Over 10 million poppies will be distributed nationwide.

The city council plans concrete driveway from the fire engine room to the street and new cement walks with a side gutter wall around Creitz mill to divert water. By June first streets may receive coal tarvia oil and a sand binder to protect against traffic wear. Possibilities include laying street car tracks in concrete with potential government aid and Main Street improvements along U S Road 40.
