J Raymond Schutz a renowned educator and traveler will give the 1938 commencement address on Wednesday night May 26 in Lincoln auditorium. He is sociology professor at Manchester College and extension lecturer in economics at Indiana University and has spoken to 7,000 audiences in eighteen years.
Plans proceed for the annual Commencement Dance on Friday May 27 at the Continental Club with Psi Iota Xi sponsoring the event. Tickets are $1 per couple. spectators welcome with a small charge.

Members of the Psi Iota Xi sorority hosted mothers and guests at the American Legion hall for a three course dinner served by the Legion Auxiliary. Music and readings accompanied the evening with remarks by Grover Van Duyn of Greenfield, Indiana.
Mrs Earl Clevenger Mrs T K Price Mrs Don Smith and Mrs Vernon Stonebraker hosted the May meeting of the Methodist church Organized Bible class held last Wednesday evening in the church lower auditorium. Games contests and refreshments in keeping with the season were enjoyed by class members and their families.
The Thursday Evening 6500 club will be entertained this Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Clevenger.
Miss Margaret Kennedy visited Indianapolis last Sunday with her brother Martin Kennedy and family for a family gathering.

Supt. L. W. Arburn was notified that Lincoln high school is again on the North Central Association list of approved secondary schools. Among over 800 state high schools only 123 meet the standard, and Lincoln has maintained certification since 1933.
A called American Legion Auxiliary meeting will be held in the Legion hall on Monday at 2 30 PM. Members are urged to attend to finalize plans for the Poppy Day observance on May 238.
The Dublin American Legion Auxiliary held its regular meeting May 15 at the post home with Mrs. Everett Money presiding in the president’s absence. Reports were given, Mothers Day mottoes were sent, and plans made for poppy sales on May 28. Memorial Day services are set for May 29 at Friends church with Rev. Floyd Seelig as speaker. Junior Auxiliary members gave gifts to the mother auxiliary. Sandwiches and beverages were served.
Virgil Eaton formerly of this city now in critical condition with pneumonia following an appendicitis operation last week at Fayette Memorial hospital.
Mrs. Ross Harris of Philadelphia visited Mrs. George Callaway Thursday and taught at the Central school building years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Kennedy of New Castle were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Beeson. A large Methodist Missionary Society delegation attended the district meeting in Hagerstown on Wednesday. The Helen Hunt club will meet Monday at Miss Mary Overbeck s home with Miss Rose Griesinger speaking on Seeds Their Place in Life and Legend and Mrs. George Haight presenting The Front Yard of the Nation while Mrs. Cora Bailey discusses Mysteries of Nature.
The Neighborly club meets at Mrs John Conklins home north of town next Tuesday with a program on Modernizing the Farm Home. Mrs Basil Conner will present a paper on Czechoslovakia and Mrs Oliver Seffrin leads the entertainment.
Miss Daisy Ayler hosted a Friday evening dinner bridge honoring Mrs. Harry Barrows of Owensboro Kentucky as house guest of Mrs. Cora Bailey. Also present were Mrs. E. P. Diffenderfer Edith Hughes Belle Marson Abiram Boyd and Mrs. Robert Hicks.
