Runaway interurban car clashes with passenger train at Cambridge City
A freight car with a trailer derailed at the L. E. & W. crossing. The uncoupled trailer rolled east, struck the 6.15 passenger car at the station, smashing a fender and breaking glass. Obituary of George T. Kepler in Cambridge City
George T. Kepler died Thursday at his daughter’s home in Indianapolis after a brief illness following hernia surgery. Born February 16, 1844 in Harrison township, he married Mary Caroline Beard in 1868 and lived on a farm before moving to Cambridge City to educate his children Lynn and Matilda. Known as frugal yet generous to families, he supported many and valued reading and law. Funeral at Germantown Lutheran church, Rev. McCormick officiating. burial in Lutheran cemetery.
