Interurban Line Closes After 35 Years Service
The Terre Haute Indianapolis and Eastern interurban group ceases operations on the local line from Richmond to Dayton at midnight last Saturday. The line began in 1902, once a major Indiana link through Ohio and Illinois, but revenue fell after the war as autos rose. Bowdoin Elder, receiver, had attempted revival by absorbing the Dayton and Western line. Archie Jackson completes 25 years of service as local conductor on the final run.

Memorial Exhibit of Overbeck Pottery at Library Sunday
A memorial exhibition of Elizabeth G. Overbeck Margaret Overbeck and Hannah Overbeck will be on view in the Public Library basement Sunday May 16 from 2 to 8 30 p m. The show traces Overbeck pottery from 1911 to present with emphasis on Elizabeth G. Overbeck including sessions from student to professional potter. It features Mary F. Overbeck works and a large loan collection from John Nixon Centerville with other loans. Painted china by Margaret and Hannah Overbeck and Hannah flower drawings are also shown. Admission is free and the exhibit runs during the District Librarians Association meeting May 20.
