Cambridge City posts announce Air Mail Week from May 15 to 21 with a First Flight on May 19 from Wayne County Airport near Centerville. All mail for dispatch must be in by 8:00 a.m. May 19, with cadet and First Flight stamps, and stamps available at the post office.
Roger W. Babson argues in May 1938 that Congress should tax new government bonds and ease the capital gains tax to spur investment and end the capital strike. He warns that current taxes harm employment and criticize high holding company taxes that pushed investors into bonds, triggering a stock market rout and broader business decline.

Mr and Mrs Paul McKee and daughters of Hartford City dined with Mr and Mrs K Hoshour. Mrs Arthur Reusche of Richmond visited her mother Mrs Adglne Basson Sunday.
Jackson Township grade schools present two operettas Dawn Boy and Honey Pirates on Thursday evening. Dawn Boy features characters including Storm Dancer Dawn Boy and Medicine Man seeking relief from drought. Honey Pirates tells of a queen bee tale with Brain and bears. Tickets go on sale Monday: 15 cents for children and students, 25 cents for adults. Curtain at 7:30.

On Friday night May 27 Cambridge City and nearby areas welcome a gala dance at Lincoln High School sponsored by the Psi Iota Xi sorority. Tickets cost one dollar per couple and are sold by sorority members. The Continental Orchestra will provide music and Mrs John Paul chairs thePsi Iota committees for the event.
Mr and Mrs Voyle Martindale were Sunday dinner guests at Hartley Hills Country Club, enjoying a social visit and dining event.

The Presbyterian Church youth pageant honored Mother's Day with seven scenes from life from babyhood to old age. Mrs. Campbell Brower led the program with Junior Department teachers and the Junior Choir. A reading of Mothers of Men by Mrs. C O Keen followed by tributes and musical numbers completed the event.
A compilation of clippings notes the Lafayette State Musical Contest results with Cambridge City repeatedly producing winners and taking the Class C cup as more than 2600 musicians competed. The praise centers on leader Frederick W. Jaehne and his work behind the success.
The Straight Way Class of the Christian Church met at Mrs. Floyd Hines Friday evening for a study on Hitler and His Effect on Religion. A true and false contest followed the social hour with refreshments served to Rev. and Mrs. Wm. Barney and numerous attendees.
