A community Vacation Bible School will be held at the Dublin Friends Church beginning June 13 for two weeks. It invites all children regardless of church affiliation, and participation is free. Watch for further announcements.
Cambridge City welcomed more than 300 residents as Hon. James A. Farley postmaster general Hon. Smith W Purdum fourth assistant postmaster general and Hon. Finly H. Gray tenth district representative stopped en route from Indianapolis to Eaton Ohio. Farley greeted each person with a hearty handshake and impressed locals with a portrayal of capable leadership and a rags to riches American success story.
Mrs Don Davidson, Mrs H Chaney and Mrs E E Swanson led a Dublin bridge party hosted by Mrs Leslie Wilson with guests including Mesdames Nabors Sweet Passmore and Stone. Indiana tax records show Public Service Co of Indiana Wayne County payment of 3796.52 for May with total company taxes for 1936 reaching 2,216,421.11 across state and federal levels. J N Shannan said the tax per meter equaled 8.42 dollars per year and 70 cents per month per meter.

Other appointments include Rev E O Kegerreis at Lewisville and Dublin, Rev Robert Jacobs to another district, and assignments to Centerville Chester Fountain City Hagerstown and Julius Pfeiffer in the region.
Mr and Mrs Charles P Marple hosted a Sunday party honoring Maude Marple of Fort Wayne and Mr and Mrs Julian Davis on their daughters birthdays.
Mr and Mrs Hugh R Foss spent Sunday with friends in Indianapolis. Mr Foss sang a solo during morning services at Broadway M E church on Fall Creek Boulevard.
Robert Harmeier and five Indiana University students were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. I J Harmeier. The party was en route to Miami University at Oxford to assist with the initiation of the Wesleyan Foundation fraternity.
Mr and Mrs George Leavell purchase the Barefoot property on Church street. Mr and Mrs Willis Dorsett move into the Judkins apartment vacated by the Leavells. Dr and Mrs Emil Kenyon move into the Harmeier property until their new home is ready. Miss Mary Allen Beale of Indianapolis visits grandparents Mr and Mrs Squire Cornthwaite for several days.
Rev Stephen Gubi pastor of the Evangelical church at Pershing was assigned to serve the charge again for one year by the Evangelical Conference in Elkhart Indiana. On Sunday morning Rev Gubi and Rev Kramer and Rev Chapman were ordained as deacons by Bishop Epp. R H Mueller became district superintendent. Mrs W B Martin attended as lay delegate and Rev M L Scheidler joined the Elkhart session. Nettie Wissler and Jamieson visited on Sunday.
Mrs. Harry Bradburn is due to return home from Reid hospital after recovering from major surgery performed two weeks ago.
Mrs Don Smith was taken to Reid hospital Saturday morning and underwent appendicitis surgery.
Miss Betty June Jackson of Christ Hospital Cincinnati spent the weekend with her family and friends in the city, enjoying a brief return home before resuming her duties.
Richard Wonsettler of Hamilton Ohio spent the weekend with his mother Mrs. Fred Bond, sharing family time and visiting relatives in the area.
Mrs Charles Lowry hosted a 500 party Monday evening at the Leapley residence in honor of McKinley Leapley. Guests included Mr and Mrs James Bozoarth Mr and Mrs Walter Mortiboy Mr and Mrs John Kinsinger Mr and Mrs Russell Chapman and Mr and Mrs Earl Clevenger.
Mrs Clark Faucett Mrs Clifford Howard and Mrs George Hormel attended a cooperative dinner party yesterday at the home of Mrs Alex Kirby near Hagerstown.
Mrs Roy Kellam and Mrs Russell Chapman were guests of the Wednesday Bridge club at a luncheon at the Peacock Inn yesterday. Members included Mesdames Jas Butler Wetter Mortiboy Earl Clevenger McKinley Leapley Charles Lowry Forrest Hull Durwood Moore John Kinsinger and George Wheeler. Miss Patricia Martindale returned home from Miami Jacobs College Dayton for the weekend.
Robert Whitton of L. H. S. wins first in the state geometry contest held at Indiana University last Friday. He tops over fifty district contestants. Don Harris Jr. and Richard T. Ball take second and third. Bobby Jacobs places fifth in algebra. Coach is Mr. Barker. local participants include William Heywood and John Hudson.
