Citizens vow a determined fight for cement sidewalks as a civic improvement. The piece notes spring signs on streets and urges following sensible public health and farming practices, urging loyalty to principles and dependable conduct in church, society, politics, and home.
Fleming Ratliff of the New Castle Tribune pressed E. J. Binford for news on the eastern inter urban line along the National Pike. Binford replied there is much news but not for public release yet. He did say the line will be completed and in operation from Indianapolis to Richmond this year and will connect with the Ohio lines.
Big Four announces round trip Buffalo and return tickets to the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo from May 1 to Nov 1, 1901. On May 15 and May 29 sale at one cent per mile per capita in each direction with continuous passage and coach travel only. Return limit midnight Friday after sale. Through tickets east of Buffalo offer ten day stopover at Buffalo for a fee of one dollar. Inquiries to Warren J. Lynch, Gen. Pass. Agt., Cincinnati.
Round trip tickets to Logansport offered for the Grand Army of the Republic and Woman's Relief Corps Annual State Encampment on May 15 and 16. One cent per mile rates from all Big Four points in Indiana, with a minimum 25 cent fare. Return valid until May 18, 1901. Inquiries to Warren J. The Akron route adds Western, Southern and Central Indiana service to Chautauqua Lake Buffalo Niagara Falls and St Lawrence River resorts and a new Buffalo Niagara frontier to New York line. Indy to Buffalo trains include the Pan-American Express at 3 05 pm with Buffalo arrival 8 15 am and the Buffalo Express at 8 35 am arriving 12 50 midnight. Return service Buffalo to Indianapolis leaves 1 pm arriving 6 30 am, with another leg 6 30 pm to 12 10 noon.
