The Bird Club lists names of members from fall to spring 1927 28 with a note that year books will reach schools by mid to late next week and that each pupil listed gets a prize drawing winner announcement for Jacksonburg Group 1 and Bentonville Group 2.
Mrs. Dan Winters spent last Sunday in Richmond. Lester Vickers stayed with his parents in Bedford. Mrs. Bertha Gilbert returned from Florida Saturday. Mrs. Abiram Boyd hosted her Bridge club Monday. Mrs. C. E. White enjoyed Richmond visitors Sunday. hdmee for spring vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Wissler. Hamilton, formerly a dentist here, is critically ill at his home in ulahtaneee. Mrs. Harry Bachman and Mrs. W. R. Littell visited Middletown Ohio last Thursday. Israel Dill and wife with their daughter Mrs. Jac Wissler and family. Mrs. Mary Weaver visits New Castle this week with daughter Mrs. H. H. Stretch. Krone & Son moved into a new home in the Tribune Building Monday. formal opening to follow. FE. D. Filby moved his real estate and insurance office into the former Krone building room.
The Junco is a slate colored winter visitor that feeds on seeds from snow and weeds. It arrives from the north, forages on stems, and often forms small flocks with tree sparrows. Distinctive white outer tail feathers, a sharp breast line, and a sober trill define its winter song and presence.
Grace Margaret Kiess, Cambridge City native, built a broad art career from Cincinnati Conservatory training to teaching in Indianapolis Boise Seattle and Cincinnati. She directed art programs in schools, taught at John Herron and Manual Training High School, exhibited widely, and earned degrees while gaining notice from Arts Review Magazine for her piece Little Miss Italia.
