Adam Rummel has moved his family here from Dublin. Mrs. Voyle Martindale and son spent Wednesday in Dayton. Miss Esther Schlagel spent the weekend with her parents at Glenwood.
Mrs Nora Myers traveled to Indianapolis on Tuesday to spend a week with her sister, keeping a short visit on the calendar.
Mrs George Weber has returned here after spending the winter in Indianapolis. She expects to resume local routines and visit familiar neighbors shortly.
Mr and Mrs M R Krahl attended the auto show in Richmond last Wednesday evening. Mr and Mrs John R Dora and family of Indianapolis visited his mother in Milton Sunday. Thomas Lafever underwent a mas toid operation at Connersville Friday and is much improved. Miss Georgia McLean of New Castle spent Sunday with her sister Mrs Fred Adrian and husband. The Lincoln Juniors held a market at Rihm s meat market Saturday and celebrated about $14 in spite of rain.
The ladies of the Presbyterian Guild enjoyed an all day meeting with Mrs. Clara Blempke on Wednesday.
Mrs J B Strickler and Mrs Frank Swadner of Dayton spent Sunday with their father Isaac Bennett and his granddaughter.
Mr and Mrs Abbot Mott of Seymour will be guests of Miss Daisy Ayler at her home Friday afternoon and evening.
Mrs H P Sanford and her son Jim arrived from Chicago on Tuesday to visit her father William Butler and his wife and Mr and Mrs Ben Sanford at their home.
Miss Nellie L. Jones and Miss Gertrude Routh will travel to Indianapolis next Sunday to hear Maria Jeritza, soprano primadonna of the Metropolitan Opera Co.
Mr and Mrs A G Cunningham and Rev Cope were dinner guests of Mr and Mrs B R Conner Sunday. Afternoon callers were Rev and Mrs Erickson and baby and Rev Reed of Straughn.
Mr. and Mrs. Voyle Martindale with son James will depart Saturday for Brooklyn New York. Mrs Martindale and James will stay six weeks while Mr Martindale makes business stops on the trip home.
Ed J. Copeland's condition deteriorates after a hip fracture suffered a week ago. He experiences increasing pain and remains semi conscious for much of the day.
Reverend Stelle preached at Economy Tuesday night with the men's chorus. The chorus sang several numbers and has delivered excellent selections at recent Sunday services at the local church.
McGraw and Macy improved the front of their occupied building by adding large plate glass windows and repainting the exterior. Interior renovations also modernized the room. The building is owned by Jerome Swisher.
The death of Mrs Anna M Filby aged ninety years occurred Tuesday at her west city home. She resided here since before the Civil War and is survived by son Ellis D Filby and sister Mrs Celia Nichols of Richmond. Funeral services at 2 this afternoon with Rev E E Davis officiating, burial in Riverside family lot.
Regular services at the Baptist Church followed by a special program next Sunday evening at the B Y P U hall. A playlet titled Christian Stewardship will be presented and a free will offering will fund a piano for the basement.
Bible school at 9 30 Sunday morning with preaching by the pastor at 10 80. Friday evening at 7 30 rehearsals of the Easter cantata are planned.
The Gospel Team of Richmond YMCA will lead the 7 o clock Sunday evening service at Germantown Evangelical church. The pastor will preach at 10 30 a m on Dwelling in Palaces or Tents. Evangelistic services run from Sunday April 3 through Passion Week to Finster Sunday with mid week services Thursday at the Rusk home and Frank Winter directing the Bible study.
The W F M S will meet this afternoon at the church. World Friendship Missionary Society meets tomorrow at 3 30 with Miss Mildred Fansher. Senior Ladies Bible class enjoyed a social at Mrs Lavina O Dell's. Prof D R Ellabarger will address the Men's Bible Class next Sunday morning. Men urged to bring friends. Choir and men's chorus rehearse tomorrow night. The Lord s Supper will be administered at next Sunday morning service.
Sunday school at 9 30 and preaching at 7 00. The annual congregational meeting follows a congregational supper on Tuesday the 22nd. All members urged to attend both supper and meeting. Mrs W M Miller will sing at the evening service.
Rev. Richard Rassmusen of Batesville Ind will preach both morning and evening next Sunday. Willing workers held an all day meeting at the parish house with quilting and Easter Bazaar planning. The event is widely known in the community.
The Pleasant Hill and Germantown Evangelical Churches thank The Tribune for its church news coverage and publicity of their events. Pastor M. L. Scheidler invites readers to attend services, noting the churches value fellowship and old-time religion despite modest outward appearance.
The junior class plans The General with Buster Keaton at Grand Theatre on March 21 22. Lawrence H Bertsch Post American Legion presents Were in the Navy Now at Grand Theatre March 28 29. Lincoln high school senior girls chorus performs The Wild Rose at Lincoln Auditorium March 29 at 8 p m. Cambridge City hosts Dollar Day April 2. Cambridge City Camp Modern Woodmen of America presents Winning of Barbara Worth April 4 5.
In Bentonville last Sunday and week many locals hosted and visited relatives from Indianapolis Cambridge City Richmond and Milton. Attendance at church services and a Patrick's party by the PTA complemented social calls while a church endowment meeting elected a new sexton and reported a year end balance.
Local residents from Greensfork to Richmond and Cambridge City share weekend visits. Families including Hines Jamison Mendenhall Hussey McLane and others are noted with dinners trips and lengthy social calls. Several illness updates and a house move to northern Michigan are also mentioned.
The Help-One-Another Club met with Mrs. Hugh Fagan. Regular services next Sunday morning and evening with Rev. Laws preaching. Socials and visits fill the week as families host friends from Cam Miss Eva Harris to Greenfield and near Richmond. Rebekah meetings at Milton and Richmond, plus multiple family dinners and weekend trips to Hagerstown Indianapolis and Greensfork.
In Dublin the Friday teachers training at 7 30 pm at the M E church and Sunday services were noted. Numerous residents visited relatives in Indianapolis Vineland Falmouth and Dayton Ohio, with social calls and funeral attendances shaping the week. A death the Wonnell family marked by a stroke led to a funeral in Eaton Ohio.
We thank neighbors and friends for acts of kindness and words of sympathy shown during the death and burial of our daughter and sister Mrs. Glenna Elma May.
