Thieves entered Lincoln high school building Friday night and took food items including corn cans salt and candy with estimated loss of 35 dollars.
Mrs Hazel Kirlin spent the first of the week storing household goods to rent her property and will move to Muncie once she finds a suitable house. Mr and Mrs Russell Stonecipher were dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Thomas Selig in Richmond on Sunday. Mrs Clarence Waddell and children of Greenfield visited her parents Mr and Mrs Henry Bowles on Monday.
Mr and Mrs Claude Russell and family Mr and Mrs Orville Denning and family of Richmond and Mr and Mrs Claude Heck and family of New Castle were guests of Mr and Mrs Ancil Williams Sunday.
At a tea in Indianapolis Mrs Mary Poston announced the engagement of her daughter Estelle Bromley Poston to Robert R Hormel of Cambridge City. The wedding is set for April 20 at North Park Christian Church Cambridge City with Miss Anna Gardner as attendant and George Fagan brother of the groom as best man. Ushers are Ernest Reynolds and Roy Kellam of Cambridge City.
Clarence Chase son of Mr and Mrs Oscar Chase will marry Miss Catharine Miles of the Middleboro pike at East Main Street Friends Church Richmond on Saturday March 16 at 4 30 pm. A wedding supper follows at the bride’s parents home. The Tribune and many friends extend hearty congratulations.
Senator Denver Harlan of Pershing Wayne County Republican and president pro tem of the State Senate was presented with a pipe tobacco pouch and a desk set by the Senate at the close of the late session Monday.
A long list of local events and visits dominates GermanTown news. Rebekah lodge hosts a cooperative luncheon for members and families. many residents announce visits, dinners, illness, and moves including Earl Duff family to Connersville and James Tilton to Hoopstown Illinois. The Zion Lutheran Cemetery Association met with officers reelected and finances reported. Regular church services planned for Sunday.
Mrs. Jesse Hor chaired a Help-One-Another club meeting in the afternoon. Weekend visitors included Mr and Mrs Lewis Hays in Cincinnati Ohio. Several families attended Horace Norman's funeral at Mt Auburn. Mile posts on Sunday noted visits from Mr Worl and others.
Lawrence H. Bertsch Post No 169 American Legion with 34 members seeks 15 more this week to meet a state quota before March 17 as the post marks its tenth anniversary on March 16 and 17. Commander James Bozoarth leads a growing unit with a new Woman's Auxiliary forming. poppies sale and Memorial Day services are planned.
