A steady stream of shoppers arrives in Cambridge City as merchants test merchandising problems and turnover plans. The Saturday Specials draw larger crowds and boost town business, supporting the slogan We Buy Normally Today Assures Prosperity Tomorrow. Cambridge City promotes itself as a Friendly Town with price and quality added.
The Lincoln high school chapel program Friday at 8 15 A M presents an illustrated lecture on The Crime Wave with photos of the Indiana State Reformatory at Pendleton. Dr W R Cady of Pendleton will give the talk and invite patrons and citizens. The display shows life at the reformatory with facilities built for twelve hundred inmates and currently housing more than two thousand men and boys.
The Home Economics senior class at Purdue University toured Chicago last week with Miss Mabel Howard, daughter of Mr and Mrs Sherman Howard of this city. They spent a day at Marshall Field Co and visited other city sights on the two day excursion.
Miss Carmen Ohmit and Miss Hazel Howell spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Karlton Rothert in Richmond. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ohmit were Sunday dinner guests of the Rotherts.
Howard Hormel departed Tuesday for Detroit Michigan then returned home to Tennessee after spending two months with his grandfather Clinton Hormel.
Mr and Mrs Max Reemster entertained twenty friends with a cooperative dinner bridge party at their home on Carolina Hill Saturday evening.
Robert Harmeier, a student from the Richmond basketball tourney group, fell ill Friday evening. He is improving and expected back in school this weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Hernley Boyd and son of Indianapolis spent over the weekend with his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Boyd and other relatives. Friday evening Mrs. Abiram Boyd hosted dinner guests Mrs. Hernley Boyd Mrs. L. F. Miller and Miss Elizabeth Paul.

W J Bowden suffered serious injuries after his car swerved near Markleville and rolled twice. The rear seat passenger was examined at hospital with no broken bones but possible internal injuries. Fellow travelers Will Floyd and Edmund Johnson escaped with minor injuries while the chorus продолжал their engagements.
Mrs John Harris 58 died at home three miles north of Cambridge on Saturday after a brief illness. Beside her husband she leaves three sons Orvel Curtis and Ivan Harris of near town and two daughters. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Zion Lutheran church Germantown with Rev Hines of Anderson officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.
Charles E Hiatt age 83 prominent Dublin resident died Friday afternoon of pneumonia at his home. His wife Ellen Hiatt also 83 died two days later. They were both longtime Dublin Friends church members. Survived by son Bert Hiatt and sister Anna Hill. Double funeral at Dublin Friends church with burial in Southwn cemetery.
Frank Hutchinson aged 52 died at home on East Street early Monday after a several weeks illness. He leaves wife Edna and children Glen Paul and Maxine, plus brother Nelson Hutchinson and sisters Ida Hutchinson Bentonville H A Wilkinson Oklahoma City and Lulu Shipley Connersville. He was a member of the Milton Masonic lodge and the local Christian church. Funeral service will be held this
Mr. and Mrs. Clark Faucett and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Will Taylor near Jacksonburg. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Clevenger announce the birth of a son Robert Earl at Connersville hospital on Friday March 6. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Veatch and daughter Betty of Connersville spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Alpheus Martindale.
Mr and Mrs Harry Bachmann and their family spent Sunday with relatives in Middletown Ohio.
Merlin Tague will depart this week for Pontiac Michigan after a six week stay with his parents Mr and Mrs Ralph Tague. Mr and Mrs T B Hurlburt are spending ten days with his sister Mrs G B Salford and family in Chicago.
